Laflin Borough Special Council Meeting – Friday, 11/19/21 at 6pm

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a SPECIAL COUNCIL MTG. for Laflin Borough will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 starting at 6:00pm at the Laflin Borough Municipal Bldg., 47 Laflin Rd., Laflin, PA  18702 for the purpose of hiring a fulltime DPW / plow driver employee; hire a part-time plow driver; review the 2022 Laflin Borough Operating Budget and for general business purposes.

Called by Paul Benderavich, Council President by Act 43 of 2012 Borough Code Sect. 1006 – Subsection 2

The public is invited and encouraged to attend this meeting.

Luzerne Co. EMA – Local Damage Assessment Report for Laflin Borough

Laflin Borough will be compiling a report on flood water damaged properties for Luzerne Co. Emergency Management Agency (EMA). This report will be sent to the state agency (PEMA) for assessment. Although, funding isn’t available at this time, residents can report basement issues to Laflin Borough by email: LaflinBoro@comcast.net.

It is unlikely funds will become available, but residents can report damage to basements from water infiltration by submitting the following information by email:
Name, Address and Phone Number of Property Owner;
Type of Damage / Very Brief Description of Damage;
Estimated Repair Costs;
Pictures of Damage.

The information will be compiled and sent to Luzerne Co. week ending 9/24/21.

Rear Oakhill Drive – Land for Sale



NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Laflin Borough will receive purchase bids for VACANT real estate property located at the Rear of Oakhill Drive, Laflin, PA 18702. Written, sealed and signed proposals with a $1,000.00 non-refundable required minimum deposit (returned to non-winning bidders) will be received on or before 3:00pm on Monday, September 13, 2021. All bid proposals shall be clearly marked “Rear Oakhill Drive Bid” on the exterior of the envelope and submitted to Laflin Borough 47 Laflin Road, Laflin, PA 18702. Bids will be publicly opened on September 13th at 3:00pm and acted upon at a public Council Meeting on September 14, 2021 at 6pm. The minimum bid will be $7,500.00 and Laflin Borough reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to disqualify any bid, which does not comply with the instructions. Acceptance of a bid is conditioned on payment of the balance of the awarded purchase price within sixty days of acceptance. Quit Claim deed with no warranties or guarantee expressed or implied.

It is recommended that potential buyers research the property for all liens and encumbrances at time of sale. This parcel of land contains a permanent easement for access to other properties.
